The first ever Circular Building Sector Conference, to be held 1-3 June 2025 in Lund, Sweden! We welcome academics, practitioners and educators from the wide field of the built environment with an interest in circular economy..
The conference will take place in two buildings: Gamla Biskopshuset (1845), and Skissernas Museum (1934). The whole first day (Monday) is at Skissernas, and the second day (Tuesday) is split between the two venues. They're just 100 meters apart, making it easy to move between sessions.
Responsible for research excellence and LTH’s Profile Areas. LTH's nine Profile Areas are the Faculty's strong and interdisciplinary research subjects formed in theme areas – to contribute to solutions in society’s best interests.
Ulla Janson is the coordinator of LTH's Profile Area Circular Building Sector and Chair of the Circular Building Sector Conference. She is in steering groups and advisory boards for various research projects and a member of the circular committee in Malmö's initiative towards climate neutrality, LFM30.
Markku Rummukainen is Professor in Climatology at Lund University, Associated Professor in Meteorology at University of Helsinki in Finland and Climate Advisor at the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute. Markkuu has, among other things, served the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), been in Sweden’s climate negotiation delegation to the UNFCCC since 2000.
Professor Karin Broberg is a geneticist and toxicologist at Karolinska Institutet and Lund University, Sweden, known for her work on human adaptation to challenging environments. In her talk, she offers a unique perspective on how occupational risks may challenge the reuse of materials in circular construction.
